For Life Sciences

Anchored in clinician connectedness, VeraQ by Verana Health is the foundation for quality insights across clinical research. Its data stem from an exclusive and trustworthy real-world data network and its science-first methodology for processing and analyzing data drive integrity in real-world evidence.

Data curated by VeraQ are clinically true Qdata®—disease-specific, fit-for-purpose data modules designed to confidently drive business insights and rigorously inform research outcomes. VeraQ and Qdata are the backbone of a multitude of observational research studies in ophthalmology, urology, and neurology, helping to unlock quality research insights along the entire drug and medical device development lifecycle.

For Clinicians

VeraQ powers the qualified clinical data registries (QCDRs) for Verana Health’s medical society partners, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology IRIS® Registry (Intelligent Research in Sight), American Academy of Neurology Axon Registry®, and American Urological Association (AUA) Quality Registry (AQUA).

For IRIS Registry and Axon Registry, it enables compliance with Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) reporting standards, which are care quality measurements required by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Participation in a QCDR helps to save contributing clinician practices thousands of dollars annually; in fact, the IRIS Registry has helped participating ophthalmologists save more than $1 billion in penalties from 2017 to 2020.

VeraQ also enables practices to enhance patient care by helping identify patients who may qualify for a clinical trial, which can accelerate trial activity for clinician investigators and life science sponsors.

How VeraQ Works

The VeraQ engine is powered by electronic health record (EHR) data that are exclusively entrusted to Verana Health by specialty medical societies: the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Academy of Neurology, and American Urological Association. VeraQ ingests, links, and curates data to enable trusted observational research stemming from real-world healthcare data.

The result? Quality insights to accelerate medical innovations that promote quality of care for clinicians and quality of life for patients.

Ingest

Ingest Data

Structured and unstructured raw-source EHR data are connected and de-identified.

Link

Link Data

Data are harmonized and tokenized across EHRs and with other data sources, such as medical claims, pharmacy claims, and images.

Curate

Curate Data

Data are maintained, protected, and curated using clinician oversight, natural language processing (NLP), and machine learning (ML).
