Product Manager (San Francisco)

Opportunity to be involved in the early stages of creating products that use proprietary healthcare data to directly impact outcomes and improve patient care.


  • Champion a user-centric approach to product design and definition.
  • Provide product leadership and rally development team to ship high quality products.
  • Own and prioritize a feature backlog to align with the overall strategic roadmap.
  • Create and groom product backlog through interaction with major stakeholders, including data scientists, engineers, designers, and business teams.
  • Think critically about technical solutions and engage the engineering team in tough conversations about prioritization and tradeoffs.
  • Work closely with UI/UX designers and inspire them to deliver best-in-class experiences across the entire product suite.
  • Provide input to the strategic roadmap by getting smart about the market through customer interaction and competitive analysis.
  • Evangelize product strategy and roadmap across a range of stakeholders and functional teams in the organization.


  • Bachelor or Master Degree in Science, Engineering or in a relevant technical area of study. Data science background is preferred.
  • Experience with medical software development, Agile, and working in multidisciplinary teams in a matrix environment is a plus.
  • At least 3+ years work experience as a product owner or product manager for a technical product/device, preferably in a regulated environment.
  • Data optimization and insights driven.
  • Patient research exposure a plus.
  • Experience in direct provider/physician or patient/healthcare user research a huge plus.
  • Passion for healthcare innovation and patient care.  
  • Experience in healthcare products is a plus.
  • Experience in clinical trials software development is a plus.
  • A Product Owner certification is beneficial.

Product Design Lead (San Francisco)

Verana is growing and we are looking for a versatile Product Design Lead to realize our vision to harness deep data insights and analytics platforms, empowering physicians and accelerating research for patients.  This role will be key to bridging the gap between the product team and internal as well as external resources. You will be a collaborative, shared resource, across marketing, corporate brand and of course, product.  You will utilize your creative expertise as a patient and provider-focused ambassador, to help develop and implement product design vision, in a fast-paced agile environment.          


  • Ability to function as a multi-talented individual contributor, and eventually, a leader and mentor to a high-functioning design team
  • Create assets for Verana, interpreting business vision into elegant and functional solutions 
  • Own interaction design and associated workflows, interpreting user research into actionable design   
  • Bring and utilize functional, scalable tools/software which will be used as a standardized  resource  
  • Develop innovative presentations; expressive and able to translate concepts into actionable project objectives, communicating appropriately with varied audiences 
  • Understand how to define what user research needs to be done, working collaboratively and effectively with user researchers, but scrappy enough to do your own user research when necessary. 
  • Ability to take research findings and leverage them appropriately in service of building Verana’s best in class solutions for a diverse representation of customers

Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years of hands-on professional experience as a UX designer, currently functioning as an amazing designer with a portfolio that is inspiring. You have a rock-solid understanding of the user-centered design process, and a further 3+ years of experience leading and managing a design team
  • Confident and articulate, with innate ability to work autonomously, and in many cases make a strong and validated proposal to various stakeholders   
  • Possess measurable data visualization background 
  • B2B and B2C experience needed
  • Strong mobile design background required 
  • Need to possess health tech background
  • Willingness to work across time zones, when needed
  • Data obsessed and analytical

  • Health data background preferred
  • Life science expertise a plus
