Business Development Manager (New York)

The Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying and driving key business opportunities at Verana, developing new strategies to accelerate our growth, a “hunter,” with a keen, creative, evidence-based approach to product solutions. This person will drive execution to deliver results and strengthen our relationships. Some examples of our work include identifying sponsor trials that align well with the strengths of our solutions, then engaging those sponsors to initiate sales cycles.

In this role, you’ll work cross-functionally with Verana teams to identify and execute partnerships and  new market opportunities that help us realize our mission of changing lives, making deeper data insights available to our customers and their patients.  Verana’s goal is to attract mission-driven, empathetic, bright, innovation focused, exceptional professionals, who thrive in a fast-paced environment.  

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the company (leadership team, product, data science, engineering, marketing, customer success, etc) 
  • Support all aspects of deal execution, including identification and prioritization of partners/targets, operations planning, follow through to delivery, and ongoing relationship management
  • Assisting in completion of initial feasibility assessment and customer proposals
  • Identify opportunities for new market development

Qualifications 

  • At least 5 years experience in externally-facing roles in healthcare, in a business development/corporate development or related role at a high growth start-up company 
  • Thrive in a fast-paced and rapidly growing business, willing to pivot as business needs change
  • Highly analytical, strategic thinker
  • Broad understanding of clinical trials, real world evidence and patient outcomes, to effectively communicate with current and prospective customers
  • Extensive exposure to data driven business models, including EHR/EMR and data insights product delivery

Director, Societies (New York)

As a contributing decision maker and leader, you’ll harness your passion for cultivating innovative partnership opportunities and apply your depth of experience to help develop products and services that meaningfully accelerate the pace of clinical research and patient care. This is an exciting and impactful hybrid role for an exceptional, versatile relationship builder.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop opportunities for Verana to engage with society members and providers on new products and services
  • Develop novel applications for registry data
  • Take a leadership role in planning our ongoing quarterly society meetings
  • Develop uniques enterprise level plans for society initiatives
  • Develop and manage relationships that support the society’s membership with top 5-8 life science partners
  • Function as a major stakeholder representing providers in the internal product approval and delivery planning process
  • Find and develop new opportunities to advance Verana’s track record with regulatory oriented projects
  • Draft SOWs

Basic Requirements

  • Proactive, analytical relationship management expert
  • Deep experience launching multi-stakeholder programs
  • Identifying new society opportunities and managing the process for building new society partnerships
  • Working with societies on developing quality measures that can strengthen MIPS incentives to contribute data
  • Roadmapping and communicating insights with marketing and other teams, gathered from working with both the society side as well as current and potential life science/pharmaceutical customers
  • Conduct market research and analysis in the life science and medical regulatory spaces
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Possess patient empathy and an intuitive provider-focused mindset

Director, Sales Operations (San Francisco)

This is an integral role, designing and implementing sales processes and practices.  This role will continue driving Verana’s rapid growth. Responsibilities

  • Implement sales operations process and quality standards
  • Lead the selection, implementation and optimization of sales productivity tools, procedures and policies
  • Proactively identify opportunities for sales process improvement 
  • Develop key performance metrics and dashboards that help the sales organization focus on performance drivers
  • Lead a pipeline management program across sales to improve quality, volume and velocity of lead flow
  • Help drive strategic planning and capacity analysis for the sales organization
  • Identify, scope and drive critical projects and initiatives for sales teams, partnering with cross-functional teams across the organization
  • Coordinate sales forecasting, planning, and budgeting processes, as well as planning activities with other functions and stakeholders within the firm
  • Coordinate training delivery to sales, sales management, and sales support personnel in the sales organization supported
  • Define, implement and manage sales compensation plans

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, sales/marketing, or related discipline,
  • Graduate degree a plus, but not required
  • 7+ years’ experience includes sales process, sales process optimization 
  • Salesforce implementation and building out a CRM functionality is essential
  • Extensive expertise in sales commission/compensation structures development and continued tracking  
  • Extensive first-hand experience with progressive sales automation systems and demonstrated ability to improve sales productivity
  • Exacting focus on attention to detail
  • Hard working, self-starter with a measurable track record of success and drive for achievement; ability to instill this sentiment in others 
  • Collaborative, fast-paced, early-stage start-up mentality 
  • Experience successfully managing priorities simultaneously, maintaining a high-volume pace with the ability to creatively shift gears as needed
  • Strong creative problem-solving business acumen 
  • Possesses excellent listening and analytical skills
  • Strong oral and written communication 
  • Healthcare/health tech experience highly preferred
