We are looking for an experienced data scientist with a background in health data analytics to
help us with data interpretation, cleaning, modeling, queries, and visualization.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the clinical and technology teams to translate clinical investigation
    questions into detailed data analytics requirements.
  • Implement retrospective clinical studies to generate RWE insights and to answer
    customer questions.
  • Organize clinical data relationships to create a data model and classification hierarchy.
  • Examine physician notes and design a model to transform and extract structured data.
  • Design visualization reports to represent data analytics results in a meaningful way.

Qualifications

  • Strong familiarity with health data analytics tools, especially SQL, Python, Pandas.
  • Experience with health data modeling, curation and bio-statistics.
  • Familiarity with clinical data sets and coding systems such as ICD, CPT and RxNorm.
  • Familiarity with pharmaceutical company business processes, including clinical trials,
    new drug introduction and clinical operations.

We seeking an experienced Compliance and Privacy Officer to join our Legal team. This newly created role reports directly to the General Counsel, and will be responsible for the development, implementation, and oversight of the daily operations of the compliance program, with a particular focus on privacy, HIPAA and regulatory agency requirements. In addition, the Compliance and Privacy Officer functions as an internal consultant on special projects or initiatives, providing technical and regulatory guidance to all departments in accordance with applicable regulations and standards. S/he will work cross-functionally to assess compliance gaps and identify solutions. Responsibilities

  • Oversee all ongoing activities related to the development, implementation and maintenance of the company’s privacy policies and programs in accordance with applicable laws.
  • Build a strategic and comprehensive privacy program, including appropriate policies and procedures, to enable consistent, effective data privacy practices; to minimize privacy risk; and to ensure the confidentiality of protected health information. Ensures privacy forms, policies, standards, and procedures are up-to-date and compliant with laws applicable to the organization.
  • Provide technical and regulatory guidance to all departments on compliance and privacy matters to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
  • Participate in workgroups that address both clinical and non-clinical internal activities to meet any regulatory, contractual, internal or other requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Information Technology (IT) department to ensure alignment between security and privacy compliance programs including policies, practices, investigations; acts as a liaison to the IT department.
  • Maintain current knowledge of applicable global data privacy and security laws and accreditation standards.
  • Work with senior management to establish a cross-functional Privacy Committee and serve in a leadership role for the Privacy Committee’s activities.
  • Driving education of compliance and privacy, training and orientation for all employees, temporary employees, and contractors.
  • Establishes and administers a process for receiving, documenting, tracking, investigating and taking action on all complaints concerning privacy policies and practices; investigates and evaluates suspected breaches, sends notification letters to patients when required, and submits required reports to the Office of Civil Rights (OCR). Reports to the outside agencies timely in accordance to the law; Provides remediation and training to mitigate privacy breaches.
  • Work closely with the General Counsel in directing and supervising compliance in audit and review activities to ensure satisfactory completion and to minimize compliance risk.
  • Assist in preparation of audit, compliance, risk and quality updates for the Compliance Committee, Board committees and Board meetings.

Qualifications

  • Law degree and/or Master’s degree in regulatory/healthcare compliance preferred.
  • At least 10 years’ experience in the privacy profession, including time in or advising pharmaceutical companies on healthcare privacy related activities.
  • In-depth knowledge of global privacy laws related to the pharmaceutical industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of legal, regulatory, compliance and business environment for the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Experience with building and implementing a global privacy program.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within an organization with senior leaders.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

We are seeking a Corporate Counsel, Commercial to join our expanding Legal team. Reporting directly to the General Counsel, you will provide hands-on legal counsel to all levels of the organization, be responsible for identifying and analyzing legal issues, drafting key documents (master services agreements, statements of work, strategic alliance agreements, partnership agreements, business associate agreements, service level agreement terms, teaming agreements and other contracts), presenting clear recommendations, and ensuring legal compliance. Must have strong drafting skills and experience with a variety of healthcare industry and technology industry concepts. The position will involve regular interaction with sales and commercial colleagues and various levels of company management.

Responsibilities

  • Provide legal support for Verana’s commercial activity with a focus on negotiating and
    drafting MSAs with a focus on SaaS and related services transactions in the healthcare
    industry as well as related agreements including BAAs and SOWs.
  • Become a company resource for contract related questions and processes.
  • Advise management on compliance with applicable corporate policies and procedures, and a
    wide range of legal, regulatory and compliance matters, including FDA regulations, False
    Claims Act, Anti-Kickback Statute, OIG guidance, marketing strategies, sales compensation,
    government reimbursement, and interactions with healthcare professionals.
  • Work cross functionally with various departments to meet business objectives.
  • Develop and maintain updated template agreements that reflect Verana’s new and evolving
    products and services.

Qualifications

  • JD Degree and member and in good standing of any State Bar.
  • A minimum of five years of health care transactional experience, preferably in the health care
    law department of a reputable law firm with emphasis on anti-kickback, HIPAA, and other
    Federal healthcare and fraud and abuse laws and regulations; experience with general
    business contracting; experience with a pharmaceutical manufacturer or health care provider
    a plus.
  • Transactional experience with SaaS agreements, Business Associate Agreements, licensing,
    data use and clinical trials agreements.
  • Be capable of regularly negotiating independently with business partners on matters of
    strategic importance that affect a substantial portion of the business or matters of significant
    importance to senior management.
  • Identify unmet needs and future legal issues and proactively proposes strategies to optimize
    outcomes and results for the company and manage risk.
  • Have excellent drafting, negotiation and very clear communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects.
  • Experience with data protection and privacy.
  • Excellent business judgment and the ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously.

The Data Platform Team is looking for a QA engineer to provide quality engineering for platform features and data. In this role you will build and automate test suites & test cases to ensure the functionality for the features built by the team and make sure they work as expected. In addition, this role will build stress tests and fault tolerance tests to identify bugs and improvement areas for the platform.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, automate and monitor tests for platform features & data. You will work closely with the developers to understand architecture details of components, provide feedback on edge cases and play a major role in shaping features.
  • Work with the development team to design acceptance tests required and build them.
  • Design and build robust test automation frameworks. Incorporate modern software Quality Engineering practices and Test Automation technologies.
  • Work on fast iteration cycles and tight deadlines using an agile/scrum methodology.
  • Able to debug, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues.

Qualifications

  • BS/CS, MS/CS or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of software engineering, operating system, database, networking and modern software Quality Engineering practices, approaches and Test Automation technologies.
  • Proficient coding skills in Python/scripting languages. Passionate about delivering quality products and have the attitude of automating everything.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills. Solid interpersonal skills conducive to a team environment.
  • Proficiency in setting up Continuous Integration/Deployment processes.
